Our Biscuits...

The Molly and Murphy All Natural Irish Dog Biscuit was created in my Connecticut kitchen out of the desire to feed my dogs a treat that is healthy, hearty and wholesome. Processed beef sticks and chemically preserved treats were far from ideal for my growing dogs and I knew I could create a biscuit they would enjoy and still provide them with essential vitamins and minerals.

Unlike the mass-produced commercial biscuits, Molly and Murphy All Natural Irish Dog Biscuits are homemade and do not contain any artificial flavors, colors, dyes, chemical additives, artificial preservatives, genetically manufactured organisms or animal by-products.

Since we prefer to use only all natural preservatives such as rosemary, cinnamon and honey, please store our biscuits in an air tight container or refrigerate after opening to prolong freshness. Molly & Murphy All Natural Irish Dog Biscuits are intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. Please Treat ’em Right responsibly.

What our Biscuits do contain...

Rolled Irish Oats

Rolled Irish oats have a much lower glycemic response than instant oatmeal and moderates blood sugar levels after consumption promoting regular bowel movements and helps prevents the risk of heart disease and constipation. They are one of the only grains that contain both soluble and insoluble fiber which is especially helpful against heart disease. Oats also supply B-complex vitamins, fiber and complex carbohydrates to help maintain healthy cholesterol.

Whole-Wheat Flour

Whole-Wheat Flour is used in our biscuits as an excellent source of protein and fermentable fiber. The fiber aids in intestinal health and is important for reproduction. We use coarse-ground high-protein flour, which contains the germ and bran. Wheat helps to stimulate liver functions and cleanse toxins from your dog's body. Whole wheat contains B vitamins, folic acid, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc and other minerals.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Farm Fresh Eggs from the chickens at Daffodil Hill Growers in Southbury, CT. Eggs offer a host of vitamins and minerals beneficial to muscles, coat, skin, and joints. They are also an excellent source of protein, the building blocks of cells, antibodies and hormones. Eggs are also essential for growth, reproduction, and maintenance. They contain essential amino acids, which cannot be synthesized by dogs and must be supplied in their diets.

Parsley

Provides vitamin C, iron, magnesium, calcium, potassium and is an intestinal calmative that aids in the nutrient absorption and elimination of gastric odors leading to bad breath. It also strengthens the bladder which helps in preventing constant urination or irritable bladder syndrome. Parsley also breaks up congestions in all areas of the eyes, nose, and mouth allowing normal function and aids in alleviating motion sickness. Great for those long car rides.

Organic Pumpkin

Pumpkin is a good source of fibre and beta carotene (a source of vitamin A). Dogs need fibre in their diet. The current trend is towards highly digestible diets that lower stool volume and this is not necessarily a good thing. Keeping the GI tract moving helps keep the cells lining the stomach healthy.

Organic Rosemary

is used as a natural preservative but is also a promising cancer chemoprevention and anti-cancer agent and anti-inflammatory. A study found that rosemary "produces a significant enhancement of performance for overall quality of memory and secondary memory factors.

Cinnamon

is a great source of manganese, fiber, iron, and calcium. Taken daily, half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder combined with one tablespoon of honey has shown significant relief in arthritis pain. It is added to our biscuits for the enhanced taste and to inhibit bacterial growth and food spoilage, making it another one of our all natural preservatives.

Connecticut Carrots

Our farm fresh C0nnecticut carrots have a high concentration of vitamins that help maintain good eye health and vision. Beta carotene has the same great health benefits for dogs as it does for people as an antioxidant, which protects against cell damage by soaking up free radicals. It is also the precursor to vitamin A. Our bodies, and those of our dogs, make vitamin A out of beta-carotene. Natural beta carotene is not able to stand up to the harsh processing that most commercial dog foods go through so you will not find it in other processed biscuits.

Cape Cod Cranberries

Are suggested for dogs as a preventative if they have been under considerable stress. Cranberry juice works to control and/or prevent urinary tract infections. Cranberry juice lowers the pH of the urine, making it more acidic. This action makes it a hostile environment for pH sensitive bacteria. Cranberries also contain at least two agents that act as bacterial inhibitors. Consequently, many medications for urinary tract infections work in the same manner.

Connecticut Apples

Apples have the ability to help absorb calcium and iron from other foods, help calm the digestive system and are wonderful source of vitamins A, C and fibre. Apples also contain fatty acids that your dog might otherwise lack in its daily diet.

Connecticut Blueberries

The antioxidants, fiber and phytochemicals blueberries boast provide the same benefits for your dog’s body that they give yours. They are especially beneficial to dogs experiencing any kidney issues by improving urinary tract health and are a good source of silicon which is helpful in rejuvenating the pancreas.  Blueberries are particularly high in vitamin C and we puree them for easy digestion.

Organic Peanut Butter

A favorite treat of Molly and Murphy. Not only is unsalted, organic peanut butter a good source of protein, but it also contains heart healthy fats, vitamin B, niacin, and vitamin E. Peanut Butter also aids in curbing "Doggie Breath" but like humans some dogs maybe allergic to peanuts- please make sure yours is not before feeding.

Organic Coconut

Organic Coconut makes coats become sleek and glossy, and deodorizes doggy odor, improves digestion and nutrient absorption, aids healing of digestive disorders like inflammatory bowel syndrome and colitis, reduces or eliminates bad breath, Contains powerful antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal agents that prevent infection and disease, Helps prevent or control diabetes, reduce weight and increases energy.
